Brief information about the Department
The Department of "Computer-aided design of processing equipment" (CADPE) [before 2003 - "Flexible
automated production systems" (FAPS) was founded in June of 1987. Since then more than 500
highly qualified specialists and more than 100 masters have became its graduates, many of whom
are currently working in senior positions at companies and enterprises of various fields.
Since 2011 student can enroll into Tambov State Technical University (TSTU) on the following specialties:
151700 - "Design of technological machines and systems": specialists (5.5 years) with specialization 151701 -
"Design of technological complexes of chemical and petrochemical industries."
150700 - "Mechanical Engineering" Bachelor degree (4 years). Specialization: "Informational support of mechanical engineering industry"
Master's Degree specializations include:
"Information management of engineering production" (specialty 150700 - "Engineering");
"Systems analysis of design and technological solutions" (specialty 220100 - "System Analysis and Control").
Within the framework of the 2nd generation educational standard, the Chair provides education and training
of specialists in specialty 240800 - "Energy and resource saving processes in chemical engineering, petrochemical
and biotechnology, specializations 240801 - " Machinery and Devices for Chemical Production " with the following
specializations:
"Information support for computer-aided design of machines and devices of chemical technology ";
"Systems analysis of design and technological solutions" (specialty 220100 - "Systems Analysis and Control").
Within the framework of the 2nd generation educational standard, the Department provides education and training
of specialists in specialty 240800 - "Energy and resource saving processes in chemical engineering, petrochemical
and biotechnology, specializations 240801 - " Machinery and Devices for Chemical Production " with the following
specializations:
"Information support for computer-aided design of machines and devices of chemical technology ";
"Flexible automated systems in technology of machines and equipment of chemical plants ";
"Computer graphics. Design of machines and devices. "
The Department of CADPE:
employs highly qualified staff (5 doctors of sciences and 4 candidates of sciences), whose works are implemented
and currently used in many manufacturing, engineering and commercial organizations;
executor of a number of state contracts under the Federal Program "Research
and scientific-pedagogical personnel of innovative Russia";
winner of grants of the President of the Russian Federation, Russian and foreign funds (USA, Germany) aimed at research and academic training of young faculty members;
incorporates lecturers who have trained more than 500 engineers, 100 masters (10 of whom have received PhD degrees) over the past 15 years;
The Department holds top positions in 2005-2010 inter-department university ranking (including the highest rank in 2007, 2008,2010
and 2011), which is the best indicator among the engineering department of TSTU.
The Department has the following facilities: a laboratory with latest generation PC and equipped mechanical
engineer's workstations, laboratories of flexible automated systems' equipment and technology.
`The Department actively collaborates with various industrial enterprises: OJSC "Tambovsky zavod "Komsomolets" named in honor of N.S. Artemov", JSC "ARTI-Zavod", JSC "Tambovmash", CJSC "Zavod "Tambovpolimermash", Co." MorshanskHimMash" Ltd., JSC "Pigment", and many others.
